Performance Series Testing
Performance Series is a web-based assessment used in NVCHS schools to identify student Lexile levels. This data is used to inform instruction in a core and identify developing readers who may benefit from an evidence-based intervention.

If you are administering Performance Series for the first time is recommended to review the Performance Series Guide, and complete a testing plan.
As the diagram above depicts, when students score below 1000 Lexiles on Performance Series, we want to learn more about them as readers. To do so, we administer reading diagnostics. These diagnostics tell us about students strengths and areas of growth as readers. A table summarizing the data that can be gathered from each reading assessment:
Guidance on how to best assess the literacy and language skills of an ELL or MLL student can be found here.
The data from these assessments are then reviewed to determine if a student would benefit from a reading intervention to support their growth as readers. Recommendations for placement into an evidence-based intervention is shown below. These recommendations should be adjusted to meet your school's program and the studnet population.
